Our carers at The Old Prebendal House undergo regular and intensive training and are passionate about what they do. We specially select staff for their personal qualities and our carers work with our residents and their loved ones to create a detailed personal plan and build meaningful relationships that ensure our residents’ individual health and care needs are continually met.
All the help you need, all the care you want - The Old Prebendal House has a dedicated care team which includes Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers, as well as an Activities Co-ordinator. The Care Home Support Service visit the home regularly and are on call to provide services should they be needed at any time.
We also have regular visits for our local GP, chiropodists, dentists, opticians and hairdressers and these services are all accessible to House residents. If you prefer to travel to visit your GP, or other health professional, we are happy to accompany you and/or arrange transport.
Decorated to offer a warm, safe and friendly environment where people can maintain their independence and felt at home in our care, we provide 24 hour person centred care in comfortable homely surroundings with welcoming facilities. Each room/apartment is fully furnished and decorated to a high standard with a range of practical design features presented discreetly. Each room us fully fitted with a call system ensuring that help is at hand 24 hours a day, while specially equipped bathrooms, wheelchair access and lifts make day-to-day life more accessible.
We understand that moving into The Old Prebendal House Care Home may be a considerable transition, but it is one we try to make as easy as possible. Rooms are your own personal space and we are more than happy for you to personalise it with small pieces of furniture and items from home.
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life in our Home. Our chefs carefully select a different menu for each day of the week, with four-weekly menu cycles, ensuring our residents enjoy a variety of delicious dishes. We always use fresh ingredients, some of which are grown in out kitchen garden by the residents, to prepare nutritionally-balanced meals throughout the day and night.
We are used to catering for a variety of dietary needs so whether you or your loved one is a vegetarian, vegan or on a medically-advised diet to manage a health condition, our chefs will work hard to satisfy their needs.
The rules around Care Funding assistance from the Government are complicated. It is widely considered that it is becoming increasingly harder to obtain assistance and that the rules are interpreted differently depending on your location.
Here at The Old Prebendal House every resident is an individual and, as such, requires different levels of assistance and care. Whilst most of our residents pay privately, our Home Manager will be able to assist you with applications for Government funding to help with fees.
To discuss your requirements please contact the Home Manager, Michelle Rogers on 01993 831888.
